Professor Michael Kimlin has made many extraordinary contributions to cancer research throughout his career as a world renowned radiation epidemiologist, specialising in ultraviolet radiation and human health outcomes. 

Michael completed his Bachelor of Applied Science (Biological and Physical Sciences), Graduate Diploma of Further Education and Training and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) through UniSQ.

'The reasons why I chose UniSQ were access to facilities and local reach, and once I got to UniSQ I realised that we had world-class researchers and lecturers in the area.' 

He is currently the Foundation Professorial Chair in the Faculty of Science, Health, Education and Engineering at the University of the Sunshine Coast and Professorial Chair at Cancer Council Queensland.
