Joanne Baker had reached the ceiling in legal administration roles and was looking for a new challenge. UniSQ’s flexibility of online study allowed her to continue caring for her children and working part-time while studying Law.
‘As a mature student, I was determined that I was going to do well, get a high GPA, go on and do honours.’
Now working as Associate lawyer within the medical negligence team at Slater and Gordon, Joanne is passionate about making a difference in the lives of her clients.
‘My clients have been through traumatic experiences which makes it hard for them to return to their pre-injury life. If I am able to obtain some compensation which can make their lives a little easier, that is what drives me to do my best for them.’
