Elisabeth

Inspiring passion through music education
Elisabeth playing an acoustic guitar, smiling at the camera.

A full-time teacher and mum, Elisabeth juggles it all as she approaches the end of her second undergraduate degree: a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Music) at UniSQ. With her first degree in Journalism and Spanish and a UniSQ Graduate Diploma of Learning and Teaching under her belt, Elisabeth has carried a rewarding 13-year career as a primary teacher and, occasionally, teaching Secondary English, Drama and Music.

Throughout her career, Elisabeth has also taught private voice lessons, conducted choirs and vocal ensembles, and embarked on any opportunity she stumbled upon in the arts. Her kindling passion for music drove her to return to university and gain a formal qualification in the area, where Elisabeth gained confidence as a performer, developed as a singer, and acquired new skills in songwriting, recording, and various instruments.

Elisabeth has transferred her skills to her chosen industry, now working as a primary music teacher and Director of Arts at Highlands Christian College. Family support and her love for music has pushed Elisabeth forward despite the challenges of working full-time while studying, as she continues to make a mark in education and share her passion with others.

‘I wouldn’t be where I am today without the skills, knowledge and confidence I have gained from my studies. What I have learned has directly and immediately related to my teaching in the classroom.’
