Charmaine

In pursuit of international opportunities
Charmaine is standing on an airport tarmac, smiling at the camera.

With over 20 years spent building a successful career in government, Charmaine has a wealth of experience. Her current role in the Queensland Government specialises in developing the dynamic Aerospace, Defence and Biomedical industry sectors. One of her most significant achievements was working as a part of the team that secured the Qantas Pilot Academy for Queensland, to be based at Wellcamp Airport in Toowoomba.

With a keen interest in understanding globalisation and the significant opportunities it presents for the Darling Downs region, Charmaine made the decision to enrol in the Graduate Certificate of International Business at UniSQ.

‘My driver was to understand the state of play internationally. I am looking forward to pursuing opportunities for our local industry in the emerging markets – particularly in Asia, and across the world.’

Studying a graduate certificate was also fantastic opportunity to get a taste of postgraduate study which could count as credits towards her goal of studying a MBA in the future.

‘Learning is a lifelong experience and it was time for me to question some of my assumptions and engage in deeper reflection. We’ve got a world class university right on our doorstep so why would I go anywhere else?’
