Anna

Indigenous scholar follows study path close to heart.
Anna is sitting outside on a sandstone block, smiling at the camera.

A deep connection to her family’s history and a thirst to learn more to help change the future led Anna Neumann to UniSQ to pursue studies in Indigenous culture.

The anthropology student’s dedication to her study also resulted in her being named a scholar in the prestigious Aurora International Study Tour. Mrs Neumann, a proud Ngiyampaa woman, was humbled to be selected as this year’s recipient.

'I am grateful to have been selected for the scholarship and I hope to continue to contribute to better understandings of Indigenous Australians as capable, intelligent leaders and demonstrate this in my career and in the community.' she said.

'My heritage is very important to me and my family and this scholarship opens up opportunities for postgraduate studies in my field'

The Aurora International Study Tour Scholarship sees Indigenous students’ visit leading universities within the United Kingdom and North America to discuss possible postgraduate study options and future opportunities.
