  • Are you a graduate student or an experienced professional wanting to take your qualifications to another level? Specialise in Applied Human Resource Management and learn how to manage organisational behaviour, build inclusive and engaged workplaces and understand contemporary human resource management issues. 
  • Guided by expert academics, you will gain an understanding of how complex interactions can influence effectiveness of management strategies; how diversity of employees and inclusion strategies within workforces adds value to organisations; develop solutions to dynamic human resource management tensions, issues and opportunities when managing people in modern day organisations; explore employee engagement theory including job design, job satisfaction, employee support, psychological safety, job burnout and trust and respect and how crucial these areas are for organisation productivity. 
  • As part of your degree, you will be able to choose a second specialisation that can compliment your career ambitions.
  • The third component of your studies will be a research project which will expand your knowledge in innovative business and entrepreneurship.

Upon completion of the Master of Business (Applied Human Resource Management) you are eligible to apply for the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

Professional accreditation

When combined with the Strategic Human Resource Management specialisation, this specialisation successfully meets the criteria for accreditation with the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI).

Entry requirements

  • Completion of a bachelor degree, or equivalent, in the area of business, or equivalent.

Note: If you have a bachelor degree, or equivalent (AQF level 7), in a non-business-related discipline from a recognised institution, UniSQ’s Graduate Certificate of Business provides a pathway into the Master of Business. Upon completion and achievement of a minimum GPA of 4.0, you will be eligible for entry into the Master of Business. Eligibility for entry will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

English language requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

You may be eligible for recognition of prior learning if you have previously studied or have relevant work experience. This will help to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.

Degree structure

To complete this degree students must complete 12 units. Most courses (similar to ‘subjects’) are valued at 1 unit. To study full-time you would usually complete 4 units per semester.

  • Semester 2, 2023 - applications close on 10 July and the Semester 1 study period commences on Monday 10 July, 2023.
  • Semester 3, 2023 - applications close on 13 November and Semester 3 study period commences on Monday 13 November, 2023.
