Overview

  • Start your university studies with a Diploma of University Studies if you haven’t finished Year 12 or never studied before.
  • If you crave creativity, the Creative Arts specialisation provides the opportunity to sample music, theatre, creative media and visual arts courses.
  • The diploma is also designed to develop your general study skills in writing, mathematics and IT. 

Further study

As a graduate of this diploma, you will be eligible to apply for direct entry into selected UniSQ undergraduate degrees. If you choose to go on to further studies, to a Bachelor of Creative Arts and Community WellbeingBachelor of Film and Screen ProductionBachelor of MusicBachelor of Television and Radio ProductionBachelor of TheatreBachelor of Visual Art, or Bachelor of Arts, the subjects that you choose could also count as credit toward your undergraduate degree.

  • Possible careers include visual arts officer, professional artist, arts administrator, community arts officer, gallery or museum technician and media advisor.

English language requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Degree structure

To complete this degree students must complete 8 units. Most courses (similar to ‘subjects’) are valued at 1 unit. To study full-time you would usually complete 4 units per semester.

Once accepted into the degree, you will need to complete the diagnostic exercises (PDF 382KB) in mathematics, e-literacy, and English communication skills to assist staff in determining your level of reading comprehension, written expression, and mathematical understanding.

Students who have completed four units of study within the Diploma may be able to exit out of the degree with a Certificate of University Studies qualification.

  • Semester 3, 2022 - Monday 14 November, 2022.
  • Semester 1, 2023 starts in February 2023.
