Overview

  • At UniSQ, the Bachelor of Science (Honours) allows you to dive deep into an area you’re passionate about. It's your chance to play a pivotal role in research on topics or issues that matter to you most, fostering critical thinking and problem solving and opening doors to a career that makes a difference.   
  • You will be guided by renowned academics and professionals in three core courses where you will carry out original scientific research, evaluate real-world practical problems and the limitations these place on progress in science, and you will learn to critically evaluate scientific literature.  
  • You will also participate in research teams, be introduced to advanced experimental and literature research methods, and have opportunities to make contact with the wider scientific community in the local region, elsewhere in Australia and overseas. 
  • Under this research specialisation, you will be able to select from the following project topics:  

- Wildlife management 
- Animal Science
- Biology 

Further study

Successful completion of honours will qualify you for entry into postgraduate programs, including masters and PhD studies.

  • Our graduates find work as climatologists, climate scientists, climate policy analysts, agricultural scientists, conservation and biodiversity managers, environmental consultants, ecologists, environmental scientists and natural resource managers.
  • Industries and employers you may find yourself working for include the resources/mining industries, national parks, universities, defence organisations, CSIRO, state and federal government departments, the Australian Bureau of Meteorology and many other organisations contributing to sustainable utilisation and management of our natural resources. 

Entry requirements

  • 3-year bachelor degree, or equivalent, in the area of Honours study from a recognised institution, with a minimum GPA of 5.0 (credit).
  • Candidates must have both supervisory and honours committee approval prior to enrolment.

English language requirements
