Overview

  • As the general population develops a greater understanding of the importance of health and fitness, sport and exercise specialists are in high demand.
  • Choose to explore research areas that interest you within sport and exercise. Your research could lead you to uncovering more about physiology, nutrition, biomechanics or public health.
  • Expand and develop knowledge within Sport and Exercise. You will learn research techniques and apply them to the area in the health sector that you are most passionate about.
  • Under the guidance of our leading researchers, you will be responsible for planning and executing a relevant research project.
  • Your research can be undertaken within our new Sport and Exercise Clinic, Strength and Conditioning and Research Laboratories.
  • UniSQ’s research in Human Movement and Sports Science is rated well above world standard (ERA, 2018).
 

Further study

Once you’ve completed the Bachelor of Health (Honours) you can choose to embark on further study with UniSQ’s Doctor of Philosophy.

Entry requirements

  • Completion of an Australian bachelor degree, or equivalent, in health or a related discipline, with a minimum GPA of 5.0.
  • Applicants need both supervisory and honours committee approval prior to enrolment.

English language requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

If you have previously studied in your home country, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.

To complete this degree students must complete 8 units. Most courses (similar to ‘subjects’) are valued at 1 unit. To study full-time you would usually complete 4 units per semester.
