Taylor Family Rural and Remote Scholarship

Applicants must:

• be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or permanent humanitarian visa holder
• be from an outer-regional, remote or very remote area within Australia
• be commencing their studies at UniSQ in a bachelor's degree program (including dual degree programs) in Study Period 1 2023 (e.g., Semester 1 2023)
• be enrolled in a minimum of 6 study units across the 2023 academic year as follows: 
  • minimum 3 study units in Study Period 1 (e.g., Semester 1); and 
  • minimum 3 study units across the remaining study periods (e.g., Semesters 2 and 3) 
• be enrolled on-campus, external or online.

As this is a commencing student scholarship, applicants are not required to have accepted/be enrolled at UniSQ at time of application.

Applicants must:

• submit a personal statement (500 words maximum) outlining:
  • your prior education and/or business achievements
  • what influenced and motivated you to choose your intended study program at UniSQ
  • how do you see yourself as a future professional within your field.
• provide evidence you have an income at or below the financial threshold limits as directed in the application process.
• provide evidence to show you have a permanent address in, or have relocated to study from an outer-regional, remote and very remote area within Australia according to the Australian Statistical Geographic Standard Remoteness Areas 2016  - refer Health Workforce Locator map.

*Extra consideration will be given to applicants who:

• have a permanent address in an area that has been declared a disaster area within the last two years
• are primary producers or their immediate family members.

Please Note: If an applicant holds other UniSQ awarded scholarships, this may be taken into consideration in selection. There are some scholarships that cannot be held together.
