2023 Science to Practice

The Future Drought Fund’s annual Science to Practice Forum brings together farmers, researchers, government, industry and the community to explore the innovative tools and practices helping our regions prepare for future drought.

The Forum is run online, over three days, with each day targeted toward a specific group: 

Day 1, Tuesday 6 June: Research and Development 

Featuring data-driven projects; stories around trials/projects from academics; future-driven messaging; content relevant to opportunities under the Future Drought Fund for NRM and farming groups and research bodies.

Day 2, Wednesday 7 June

Featuring presentations for farmers, producers and agricultural advisors: human impact stories; ‘call-to-action’ presentations; content relevant to opportunities under the Future Drought Fund for producers; farmer and farm-advisor delivered stories.

Day 3, Thursday 8 June: Community and Policy

Featuring community and/or social projects, including presentations on farmer wellbeing and community resilience in the context of drought; a focus on opportunities under the Future Drought Fund; policy discussions and input from network partners such as the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation (ARLF) and the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR).
