Artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a promising new area of study in recent years. As part of India's continuous journey towards digital transformation across various industries, including healthcare, agriculture, finance, education, and e-commerce, this initiative seeks to build a responsible AI framework for advancing India's society. It will be developed with India in mind but relevant to emerging economies globally.
AI is transforming worldwide, including in India. AI can potentially revolutionise numerous industries, but its use poses several ethical issues. AI systems may, for instance, be biased, discriminatory, and opaque. They can also be employed maliciously by disseminating false information or intruding on computer systems.

This research will examine the impact of implementing AI on digital transformation projects in five crucial sectors. It is proposed that the iterative design and testing process of Design Science Research (DSR) be used to assess the viability of a Responsible AI framework. DSR approach ensures that the framework can be utilised effectively to promote the ethical deployment of AI. This research will contribute to responsible artificial intelligence through the information it will provide on the challenges and prospects for deploying AI in developing nations. The primary objective is to investigate the potential positive and negative effects of AI on Indian society as a result of digital transformation.

Many stakeholders, including policymakers, businesses, and civil society organisations, will find this study's findings helpful. This research will inform the development of policies and regulations that promote the responsible use of artificial intelligence in India. It will also help enterprises develop ethical and socially responsible AI systems. In addition to raising awareness of the potential risks and difficulties associated with AI, the study will aid in developing strategies for mitigating these risks.
