In this workshop, Dr Zahnow will present on a number of strategies that she has employed to build her research profile while she was still progressing through the Early Career Researcher stage of her academic career.  


Dr Renee Zahnow is an Australian Research Council (ARC DECRA) Senior Research Fellow in the School of Social Science at the University of Queensland. Her research focuses on place-based patterns of crime and victimisation; she is particularly interested in understanding the link between the regularities of daily human mobility, social and behavioural norms and the propensity for crime and deviance. Dr Zahnow has expertise in temporal and spatial analysis and big data management. Renee is a recipient of the ECR Paul Bourke Award for Australian social scientist of the year and her work is published in a high ranking journals including Criminology, Nature Human Behaviour, Quantitative Criminology, Annals of American Geographers and Environment and Behaviour.
