Session 1: “Different Types of Literature Reviews” - presented by Dr Ashley Whitehorn, Research Fellow, JBI, University of Adelaide
In Session 1 you will be presented with an overview of different types of literature reviews, highlighting key differences, purposes and indicators of quality and trustworthiness in each.

Session 1 learning outcomes:
• differentiate between literature review types
• appraise quality and trustworthiness criteria for different review types


Session 2: “Limitations and Uses of Retrospective Versus Prospective Data in Grounded Theory Research” - presented by Barbara Black, Lecturer (Nursing), School of Nursing and Midwifery, UniSQ.
In Session 2 you will be presented with the current evidence on using retrospective data vs prospective data collection in grounded theory research and a practical application of using both types of data to develop substantive grounded theory in a study exploring alternative pathway students in a Bachelor of Nursing program.

Session 2 learning outcomes:
• discuss factors related to progression in university programs for students enrolled through alternative pathways
• describe advantages and limitations of using retrospective vs prospective data in grounded theory research
