This research project will present an auto-ethnography of my lived narrative as an Indigenous Australian academic. The research questions will address three key areas that pertain to deeper observations from many years of lived experience in the Australian higher education sector. Areas of focus are governance, the discipline of Indigenous Knowledge, and local community relationships with the university. A deeper exploration and explication of my experiences as an Indigenous Australian woman (Bundjalung) and scholar will be the underlying core emphasis in the research project. Strengths, challenges, and identified gaps will also be addressed in responses to the research questions, that are tied in with the title of the research project.
