The White Elephant in the room. Considering Australia's colonial history, do racialised legacies present in the form of unconscious bias in Queensland school education leaders? Bias is part of the human psyche, and deeply rooted unconscious bias can hinder the best of intentions. Implicit biases can influence behaviours, even if they are in direct opposition to espoused beliefs, because they are just that - unconscious.
This qualitative research project aims to use the lens of critical theory to explore possible implicit bias in the decision making of Queensland school education leaders, in relation to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education.
