Time to keep an eye on the sky. Spring is just around the corner which means magpie swooping season will soon be in full flight.
• Wildlife expert Associate Professor Peter Murray can discuss why magpies swoop, what you should look out for and how you can avoid being targeted. Professor Murray says Spring is also the season to be snake aware, as they start to slither out from their winter sleep, hungry and more active.

Spring is almost here and with it the chance of some rainfall. Climatologists are predicting that while September may be drier than normal, October and November hold more potential for rain.
• Dr Chelsea Jarvis says temps are expected to be warmer than normal due to cloud cover and increased humidity. However, we may still have a frost or two. She says the seasonal conditions relate to warmer than normal water in the Coral Sea and Indian Ocean.

WHAT PUTS A SPRING IN YOUR STEP
With the weather warming up, more people are getting out and about for exercise.
• Biomechanics expert Dr Ben Hoffman says while many people think it’s our muscles that perform all the work when we exercise, it’s actually our tendons that put a spring into our step and help us to run faster and jump higher. Dr Hoffman is a biomechanics lecturer and researcher with a particular interest in using ultrasonography to examine muscle and tendon mechanics during movement and in response to exercise-induced muscle damage.
