This unique opportunity provides Year 10 to 12 students an on-campus experience where they can delve further into different fields of study and get a taste of life as a UniSQ student. Students will also participate in sessions led by UniSQ’s Academic professionals, providing an opportunity for students to meet their future University lecturers!
Parents interested in learning more about UniSQ are invited to participate in campus tours beginning at 9.00am and 1.30pm.
In Session 1, students will have the option to select one of the following:
Aviation
- Whether you want to complete pilot training to pursue a commercial pilot career or develop your mechanical engineering skills, learn from our Aviation lecturers about future career pathways.
Animal/ Agricultural Science

Students will get a taste of what it is like to be an animal scientist. They will enjoy hands on activities learning about animal health, welfare and behaviour, nutrition, and reproduction and the role that sensors and technology have in their management.
Biomed & Medical Sciences
- Enjoy hands on activities in our science laboratories learning about the genetics and biology of heritable diseases of the blood system.
Creative Writing
- Develop an understanding of the practice of creative writing, as well as an introduction to the ideas, theories, and philosophies that inform professional writers and the writing industry.
Electrical & Electronic Engineering (Make your own electrical motor)
- Identify and list parts of an electrical motor. Assemble the parts according to the instructions provided.
Film & Screen Production
- Low budget film making is a skill. Learn how to bring your ideas to life with the resources you have on hand.
Nursing
- Experience Nursing in UniSQ's purpose-built wards, led by our experienced Registered Nurse Academics.
Occupational Therapy
- Learn about one of UniSQ's newest programs, occupational therapy. You'll gain a deeper understanding of what your career can look like in this health profession.
Psychology 101
- Learn about Psychology 101. Combine your interest in human behaviour with a specialist study area of human resource management, counselling and behaviour management.
Social Work and Human Services
- Be prepared for a career as a change agent and study social work or human services with UniSQ. Gain practical insights and experience within our industry-based placements, and benefit from opportunities to connect with our extensive industry networks through industry events and placement courses.
Theatre – Audition Techniques
- Receive a quick-fire course in contemporary theatre making and acting. A drama workshop on some of the skills and practices that make UniSQ Theatre students some of the most well-employed and highly regarded in the Australian theatre industry.
Visual Arts - Experimental Painting
- Join our Creative Arts lecturers in the painting studio and paint your own masterpiece!
Surveying
- Experience Surveying at UniSQ through our drones in a surveying activity led by our UniSQ academics.

- Join us to consider the future of business and address wicked problems, identified by the UN. As a group, consider how to address a wicked problem that relates to your community.

Education – Why Teach?
- You probably already have some idea about becoming a teacher because you are at school, but there’s more to know! This session will help you to identify the personal attributes and core skills needed to become a great teacher.
Civil Engineering- Bridge Construction
- Students will construct a bridge with limited resources and time constraints following a presentation about Civil Engineering and Construction Management.
