Ignition Bursary Fund

If you're starting or growing your own business, or completing professional development, UniSQ's Ignition Bursary Fund might be able to help you achieve your goals.

The Ignition Bursary Fund is an initiative of the National Priorities Industry Linkage Fund (NPILF) Project, supporting UniSQ students to gain industry skillsets and opportunities through entrepreneurship and innovation activities.

Who can apply for the bursary?

Students undertaking activities offered by UniSQ and/or external industry partners can apply for the bursary. Activities can be pursued either within curriculum or outside of it, providing flexibility for UniSQ students to explore their interests and gain valuable skills.

Examples of eligible activities include:

  • Joining UniSQ accelerator programs
  • Undertaking entrepreneurial projects
  • Attending workshops or professional development training
  • Attending a networking event
  • Participating in innovation challenges
  • Attending an industry conference
Please note that all activities supported by the Ignition Bursary Fund must be undertaken within Australia and must be endorsed by the UniSQ Industry Project Team. Applicants will need to provide supporting documentation.

To be eligible for the Ignition Bursary, applicants must meet the following core criteria:

  • Currently enrolled in a UniSQ Program, with at least one course in progress.
  • Maintain good academic standing.
  • Agree to abide by the UniSQ Student General Code of Conduct Policy throughout their participation in supported activities.
  • Provide a report on the supported activity and share their feedback on the experience. This reporting is necessary to fulfil funding requirements set by the Australian Government and to inform future activities and planning.
  • Meet any additional criteria specific to the program or activity for which they are applying.

Students may receive more than one Ignition Bursary throughout their UniSQ Program. However, each case will be assessed individually, aiming to provide opportunities to students who do not have access to other forms of funding. In instances where bursaries are limited and students have equal merit and eligibility, preference may be given to those who have not previously received funding. All students are encouraged to take full advantage of the Ignition Bursary opportunities to enrich their academic journey and prepare for a successful future.
