You are invited to participate and present at an exciting series of four colloquium. Enjoy four sessions focussed on helping you to juice your research and get published.
Abstracts due: Friday 23rd June
The University of Southern Queensland is committed to producing the next generation of high-quality researchers. In collaboration with the PGECR, Phoenix Writers Group and the School of Education TEECRAA community, the ‘Page to Publication’ colloquium will provide you with targeted opportunities to consider how you can juice your research and get published.
Each colloquium will include:
- A keynote speaker to help build your research, writing skills and knowledge of the publication process
- Opportunities to pitch your publishable idea - submit an abstract following the guidelines below
- Receive targeted and individualised feedback on your page to publication plan
- Opportunities to connect with fellow Masters, ECR and HDR students

Four colloquia will be offered starting at 9am finishing at 1pm either in-person on campus or via zoom.
Abstract submissions will be clustered according to the following research interests:

Submissions due by Friday 23rd June
To submit an abstract, you must complete the abstract template and register to attend the event, ensuring you provide:
- Working title of your publication
- 150 to 200 word abstract
- Proposed publication plan including publisher/title of journal

Participant presentations will be allotted 10 minutes followed by 5 minutes of live feedback. You will also receive targeted written feedback.
- Consider and explain the following as part of your presentation:
- State the working title of your paper
- Clearly state the purpose/aims of the publication – having a thesis statement and research question are a good start
- Explain your main background literature you are using and your methodological framework if presenting research
- If you’ve got an idea of your structure, you may want to outline this briefly
- State which journals/publications your work will be targeted, you may want to list the title of the journal/s, word limits/abstract length and Quartile ranking
If you want to use a slide show PowerPoint, follow these guides:
- No more than 5 slides
- Keep the text succinct
- Prepare your PowerPoint file or a PDF and bring them with you to the event. You will need to load your presentation onto the computer before the session starts to facilitate smooth transitions between speakers. We recommend you bring your presentation on a USB or portable memory device. You will not be able to plug your own laptop into the conference projection system.
