Important Information
UniSQ students will need to nominate more than one university as part of the ISEP Exchange program, as your first choice of university is not guaranteed. Some universities have a 'very limited' chance of placement. Make sure to include some host universities in your nomination that have a good chance of placement to improve your likelihood of being placed. Please read about the ISEP Exchange program for further information on how the program works. UniSQ students can only study at the Palmerston North Campus of Massey University.
Visit the Scholarships and costs page for more details on how you can fund your program. The ISEP exchange program has a USD100 non-refundable application fee. Once placed at Massey University, you then pay USD395 to accept your placement. This fee covers the cost of placement conducted by ISEP staff.
Students pay accommodation and meal costs to UniSQ in Australian dollars. More information is available below. Students should choose the ‘ISEP Exchange’ program in order to continue paying their tuition fees to UniSQ (i.e. By deferring to HECS-HELP or full tuition payment). The ‘ISEP Direct’ program is for students who want a ‘study abroad’ placement and are prepared to pay tuition fees and accommodation fees directly to the host university.
Single room, university managed accommodation is provided through the ISEP program. UniSQ students pay accommodation and meal costs directly to UniSQ for all ISEP Exchange placements. The 2020 accommodation and meal costs payable to UniSQ per semester is AUD6025 (S1) or AUD5978 (S2). You are not required to pay accommodation or meal plan costs when you arrive at Massey University.
Massey University may not be able to offer a choice of accommodation due to this arrangement and you will usually be placed in university managed accommodation in a single room. ISEP Exchange therefore may not be appropriate for students travelling with their partner or dependant. Check the Massey University ISEP institution page for information about accommodation. Not all universities provide fully catered meal plans. In these cases, students may be given a stipend to cover the costs of food for the semester.
Insurance:
Students will be required to purchase a New Zealand health insurance policy. Information will be provided by the host university.
