Overview

This course teaches the propulsion concepts required in the modern aerospace industry. From subsonic turbines through hypersonic airbreathing engines and into in-space propulsion, the current state-of-the-art technologies will be analysed. Completing this course will provide the skills required for a career in aerospace propulsion engineering.

This course will present an introduction to aerospace propulsion concepts, explaining the fundamentals of propulsion and different types of propulsive devices. This course teaches the tools required to analyse propulsive systems for design purposes. The emphasis will be on rockets and airbreathing propulsion, and there will be an introduction to space propulsion concepts.
