Motivation and emotion are intriguing but complex biopsychosocial phenomena that underpin all human behaviour. This course introduces students to theory and research related to human motivation and emotion, which are integral to understanding human psychology.
It will cover several interrelated topics in motivation and emotion, such as drives and instincts, theories of motivation, consciousness and volitional behaviour, self-control and self-regulation, the structure and function of emotions, relationships between emotion and cognition, and the regulation of emotions.
