Synopsis

This Masters level course explores contemporary issues related to theoretical concepts surrounding clinical leadership in practice for registered nurses working in health care organisations. To practice effectively the understanding and the application of clinical leadership is required. This course contains four modules of study which together provide registered nurses with a detailed exploration of the context of clinical leadership in practice including professional practice frameworks and theoretical concepts surrounding clinical leadership. Reflection is used to gain self-awareness of leadership traits and attributes. Students will apply the principles of clinical leadership in practice inclusive of the role of change agent, visionary and advocate; and gain an understanding of the legal, ethical and social justice approaches to clinical leadership in health care settings.
