Sport and Exercise Clinic

UniSQ's Sport and Exercise Clinic was established as a community exercise rehabilitation service to provide ongoing care for patients with chronic and complex health conditions, whom are unable to pay for private exercise physiology services. The clinic is also available to patients who have exhausted available publicly funded services within the hospital system.

This clinic is operated by the School of Health and Wellbeing at the University of Southern Queensland, Ipswich Campus. The clinic offers services in a variety of areas including assessment, exercise prescription and education for individuals and groups. Services are provided by Sport and Exercise students as part of the practicum requirements of their degree at UniSQ under the supervision of staff who are experienced and accredited as Exercise Physiologists with Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA).

The Sport and Exercise Clinic offers high quality, low cost, evidence-based services for children, adolescents and adults of all ages in the community. The clinic provides assessment, consultations, education and group exercise for a range of health issues, including:

  • Diabetes & pre-diabetes
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Obesity
  • Cancer
  • Depression and other mental health conditions
  • Arthritis and osteoporosis
  • Chronic respiratory disease and asthma
